Q: Did Kampgrounds of America really start in Billings, Montana?
A: Yes! The first KOA campground was built near the Yellowstone River in 1962. Our founder noticed that many people were traveling from the eastern US to the World’s Fair in Seattle. He decided it would be a good idea to establish a place for them to stop along the way. The banks of the Yellowstone River was the perfect spot. Today there are over 500 KOA campgrounds operating in the United States and Canada. The only US state without a KOA is Hawaii. It’s a little harder to get an RV over there!
Q: How long has KOA been working with Graphic Imprints?
A: KOA’s relationship with Graphic Imprints spans 20 years! They care about our needs and we appreciate their attention to detail. For example, KOA uniforms are bright yellow. We need our gear to be made of high quality, durable materials that are breathable, stain resistant, wash and dry well and won’t fade. Campground work can be sweaty and dirty; Graphic Imprints makes sure our campground managers stay comfortable and look professional while they work.
Q: Does Graphic Imprints provide anything for KOA besides uniforms?
A: They provide everything from signs, badges and banners to promo items – basically, anything and everything in their catalog. If it can be stamped with KOA, Graphic Imprints will make it happen. We even have them set up a product store at our annual convention. It’s a great opportunity for campground owners to see what is available for them to sell in their own camp stores. They always have fun, new products for us and our owners love to see and feel what they’ll be getting. It’s a great partnership.
